Edition 7 our bi-monthly newsletter, Encounter, has just been released.

Laidlaw College is planning to launch the Bachelor of Counselling degree in Christchurch in 2012.

Blue skies, bouncy castle, candy floss machine and a visit from Ping Pong the clown made our 10th birthday party a real success.

In June this year, nine students and two faculty from Laidlaw College flew to Tel Aviv to begin a three week experience learning what Israel was like in the time of Jesus.

This year the annual Christchurch Leaders' Day was held on 7 September.

In late August 2011, teacher trainees from Laidlaw’s School of Education descended upon Weymouth Primary School and Riverhead School for a ‘Service in Practice Day’ in each school.

Around 70 scholars gathered in mid-August for a Colloquium on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture at Laidlaw College.

Laidlaw College recently had the great privilege of welcoming visiting scholar Dr Iain Provan, Marshall Sheppard Professor of Biblical Studies at Regent College to its campuses in Christchurch and Auckland.

Friday 12 August saw the launch of three custom-prepared pieces of artwork by Maori artist Donna Hakiaha in the Twos & Threes café at the Auckland campus.

A crowd of some 70 people gathered at the new Epsom Baptist Study and Retreat Centre at the end of July to celebrate the launch of Martin Sutherland's latest book.

Graduates from BTI, BCNZ and Laidlaw came together on 5 and 6 August for a weekend full of great conversations, rich theological teaching, inspiring and encouraging stories and delicious food.

Laidlaw College Christchurch Campus is open Wednesday for morning and afternoon classes. The evening class will not meet tonight.

The Christchurch Campus of Laidlaw College is closed Monday and Tuesday, 15-16 August due to the snow.
