About Ruth McConnell
Ruth is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with more 20 years experience as a therapist. She specialises in counselling families through separation and divorce, but also has extensive experience in individual psychotherapy working with people experiencing relational brokenness. She completed an MA (honours) in Psychology at Aberdeen University, followed by a PhD in Counselling Psychology from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. She has authored several journal articles and conference papers on the effects of separation and divorce on children, and has regularly led Parenting courses in Vancouver, Canada. Ruth grew up in the Amazon region of Brazil, the daughter of Scottish missionaries. She is married to Mark and they have two daughters.
